Lisa V Received My Exchange

Lisa V and I did a private exchange and I heard from her over the weekend that she received what I sent her!  Yeah!!!
I stitched The Travelling Stitcher for her by LHN. I think this is one of my favorite LHN pieces. Our theme was something to do with stitching and this design popped into my head right away. I stitched it for myself and enjoyed it so much I knew I would eventually stitch it again.
I used 32ct Lambswool Linen and the Crescent colors threads called for in the design. I was able to find almost the exact fabric used in the pre made pouch I purchased for myself  and decided it looked easy enough to make one for Lisa's piece.
If you have been following my blog you already know I am very new to sewing. And even though I *thought* it looked easy enough to make it turned out that it really wasn't  (for me lol)  I am so glad my sewing teacher (DH) was willing to help me  :)   I think it turned out pretty good considering I just looked at the pouch I already had and didn't have a pattern or anything to go by.  I also now appreciate those pre made items and will never question the cost again. And I will try and remember even though it looks simple enough to make it REALLY isn't ....for me anyway LOL

I am so glad Lisa loved it and didn't already have it. I scoured her blog to make sure and was hoping she didn't have it in her stash pile to do and she didn't!

I really enjoyed our exchange Lisa !

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!  I was spoiled by my family :)
Every year my son's school teams up with  the local supermarket and offers Mother's Day cakes. The cost for one is minimal and the school get a portion of the cost. The cakes are then delivered to the school the Friday before Mother's Day and the kids who ordered them get to decorate and bring it home to their Mom. My son really enjoy's doing this. This is the cake he made for me this year:

The big pink flowers were already there but he wrote in the words and added the sprinkles and flower picks. I think he did a super job!

Have a great week everyone!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I LOVE my stitchers pouch and will treasure it for sure. You did a great job of the sewing, I'm not advanced enough on my sewing machine to even attempt it.
I had great fun with this exchange Lisa, and I'm soo pleased to have made such a wonderful friend.
Hugs
