Monarch's Have Arrived!!!

I just went outside to check on a passion fruit that I noticed growing on my passion vine. I grow the passion vines for the Gulf Fritillary butterflies as that is the plant that they use for their host plant. In case your not familiar a host plant is the plant they use to lay their eggs. Most butterflies are plant specific but a few will use other plants in the same family. In the 5 years I have this plant growing I only saw 1 other passion fruit grow from it. Sadly that particular vine was growing through my neighbors hedges and he cut them and their went my fruit, I forgive him though :)
This time the fruit grew in my garden so I am just waiting for it to ripen. It's not ready yet and I forgot to take a picture of it.
While I was over by the fruit I looked at my milkweed and lo and behold I saw a monarch caterpillar!!! I always check them but up until today I didn't see anything on them. I actually counted 4 caterpillars!! While coming back into the house to get my camera I spotted what I think is mamma Monarch taking a snooze in the shade under a leaf on my hydrangea!! So I rushed back out to get a pic!

As I was over on this side of my house their were butterflies flying everywhere around me! Most were the Gulf Frit's but there were some Yellow Sulphur's as well!

For some reason Fall is a better butterfly time for me here in my part of Florida.

I finished stitching 2 more exchanges since my last post. I just have to finish them off and send them out. I am still ahead of my exchange stitching. Yeah!

I also have received an exchange from Ina for the HOE Fall Pynkeep exchange a couple of weeks ago . I LOVE the acorn she stitched for me and I love the way she finished it off! The threads she used are so very pretty too!  Thank You so much Ina!

Thank You so very much for stopping by! And Thank You for all the wonderful comments :)

What beautiful butterflies! I've tried to grow passion flowers in my garden several times but they die within weeks of planting them. :0(
Your exchange from Ina is lovely,

Your stitching for the exchanges is beautiful, I love the Crows & the Toffee Apples. Great for such occasions and they make wonderful gifts. Lucky partners.

Loved your gift from Ina as well.
