It's HOT!!

It has been so hot here lately it isn't funny! I have been stitching and finishing like crazy here because I don't want to go outside!  So today being the temperature is 95 and the heat index is making it feel like 113....yes 113 according to the weatherman I figured I better get my butt on here and catch up on what I have been doing.
I am happy to report that I FINALLY have gotten the hang of my sewing machine! YEAH!! I can thread the machine, make a bobbin and even thread the bobbin in the machine by myself!! I no longer have whine my poor husbands name to help me! He is happy about that LOL
I had 3 exchanges to finish up and although I finished stitching them weeks ago I was getting up the nerve to actually sit down and finish them on the sewing machine. So being they had to be in the mail by Aug 1 Thursday night I sat at the machine and decided to give it a go. That was when I realized I actually knew what I was doing! I whipped up 4 pillows that night although I can only show you 1 right now. I was so relieved to be able to get them all into the mail on Friday.

The past few weeks have been crazy around here. My poor DH drove a drill through his left middle finger one night! I had just sat down on my computer and I heard him come into the house from the garage. He calmly called my name and said he needed help. So I am thinking  "oh what does he want me to hold down for him this time!!" lol He then calmly says I drove a drill bit through my finger and I am bleeding!!! Boy did I feel bad thinking  what I was thinking when he called me. I ran into the kitchen and saw him grabbing a paper towel. I told him to hold it tightly onto his finger and hold his hand above his head. Poor guy! He said the drill bit just broke when he was using it and the drill slipped.  He takes aspirin & Plavix so his blood is thin and he was REALLY bleeding A LOT! I asked him if I should call an ambulance and he said no. Then I said we are going to the emergency room and he said no but I reminded him he is not in good health to begin with and with the thin blood and stuff he is going. So I drove him. They took x-rays and saw it went right through his finger and chipped the side of the bone in his finger. He is doing much better now . No bandages anymore but he still has a hole through his finger.
I'll tell you he was very brave and handeled it very well. If it was me I probably would have passed out! lol

Here is the pillow I made myself the other night.  The pattern is called Flip Flops Rock by Sandra Cozzolino and can be found here .

There are flip flops on that fabric but I just noticed none of them made it onto the front of the pillow lol figures!

I also finished the Travelling Stitcher by LHN and finally stitched it onto the pouch and needle case. I chose to attach the Needle case piece onto the front instead of inside like it showed on the pattern picture. I need to work on my hand sewing next ;)

Thank you all for taking the time to visit my blog! I appreciate all of your comments and I enjoy reading all of your blogs!
