A Birthday Present To A Friend & My PS Exchange Was Received

As you can see in an earlier post Lisa V and I did a private exchange in April. I stitched and made for her LHN's The Travelling Stitcher. I had wanted to make the matching needle case for her as well but I didn't have time being I ran into a stitching error on the pouch piece. So I knew at one point I would make it for her and just send it. Then I found out her birthday was on June 2nd and figured I would have time to stitch it up and make a needle case. I am so glad I bought a yard each of the fabric I used for her pouch! I even got to use a label that Lynn B had made for me!
I was hoping Lisa's gift would arrive to her by her birthday and it almost did as she received it the day after I believe  Whew! lol
I hope Lisa doesn't mind my not so perfect sewing.  I know it  gives a new meaning to "primitive" LOL But I really try to make things look nice. I am getting there as I can see my sewing improve ever so slightly. And after every piece I sew I do learn something  for the next time.

I am so glad you were suprised Lisa and that you love your matching needle case!

I also saw that Becky K  has received the Prairie Schooler Seasonal Exchange piece I made for her. Becky chose autumn for her season and I immediately knew I would make her an acorn from the PS Acorn book. I LOVE these pieces! It is the 2nd one I made for an exchange. I really have to make one for myself someday!
I used 28ct antique white evenweave and the DMC threads called for. I followed the instructions in the book to finish it off into an acorn shaped pin pillow.  I used solid brown fabric for the back  as I couldn't find anything in my stash that I really liked with the design.
I was so happy to see Becky's name as my partner. Her and I have been exchange partners a few times before in different groups but it has been awhile.

I'm so glad you love it Becky!

I think I am caught up showing you all of the pieces I have been working on as well as the beautiful exchanges I have received!  I finished stitching up my Snowman Exchange ornament last night. Now all  I have to do is make it into an ornament.
Today I will start making a replacement exchange for Laura in Mexico. She was my partner in the Seasonal Exchanges winter round. I mailed her exchange out on January 27th and she still has not received it. She had said to wait a bit as sometimes it takes awhile for her to get mail. But I think at this point it may truly be lost :(  I do have a picture of what I made for her but I am thinking of stitching it up again as I really like that design and I think Laura will like it too.

Today was my DS's last day of school! My DH & I went to his rewards/graduation ceremony and then took him home. He received 3 awards!
1. Honor Roll
2. B.U.G. Award (bringing up grades)
3. Proud Panther Award (Learning to Succeed: good behavior and working hard to earn good grades)

My DH & I are so proud of him!

So officially Summer vacation has begun!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Beautiful exchange pieces Lisa! The acorn is such an unusual finish. What a shame your exchange piece went missing en route to Mexico. Where on earth do all of these missing parcels end up I wonder?!
No wonder you are so proud of your son - fabulous awards!
