I'm Still Here & I Have Pictures!

I know it has been awhile since my last post. When I had a chance to post a couple of weeks ago  blogger was down and then by the time I saw it was up again it went down again! I know it wasn't just me but it threw me off. I also have  DH  home  for the past month because he hurt his back lifting something heavy (i think it was a post or a railroad tie, I forget) at work. He has been going to doctors & therapy and taking meds, but it still bothers him a lot. Poor guy!

Anyway when he isn't driving me crazy lol I've been stitching and have much to show you!

First is my square for a quilt for Lisa Roswell of the Primitive Needle's family. A bunch of us on the 123stitch message board have gotten together to make a quilt for Lisa's family with a Halloween theme as it was Lisa's favorite. Some of us are stitching her designs and others are stitching something halloween. I chose to stitch Lisa's Salem Witch design for it. I stitched it on 28ct white evenweave with DMC threads.

I stitched Tulip House stitching Companion from BBD A Stitchers Journey for my partner Elisabeth in the Black Bird Designs Exchange group. I used 28ct antique white evenweave and the DMC threads listed in the design. It did call for GAST Threads and gave the DMC equivalents which I used but to me they look a little wonky. Either that or there was a mistake with the symbols on a part of the chart. Naturally I didn't notice it until I had a good portion done. I made it into a pinkeep for Elisabeth. She emailed me to say she liked it which made me happy :) I also got to use the name labels I received from Lynn. It was just perfect! Thanks again Lynn!

On my Blackbird Designs Yahoo group Joy headed up a mystery exchange for a pincushion. Here is the one I made for the exchange. They are going to be sent out on June 15th and I will not know who will receive mine or whose I will receive in return. I am so excited and cannot wait to see what I receive!
This design is Summer Stars Pincushion from A Stitchers Journey book. I changed the colors completely on this from what was called for in the book,  I stitched it on 32ct Queen Annes Lace joblean and I used GAST threads punchberry,  barn grey, hyacinth,  poppy & huckleberry. I also used lilac chenille trim around the edge. I hope the person who receives it likes what I made.

So you can see I have been busy stitching away! I do have a few more stitching items  to share but I will post them tomorrow. Some are ones I received and 1 is something I made for a dear friends birthday ;)
The weather here has been very hot and I only go out in the evenings to run errands or if I REALLY have to I will go during the day. My DS has his last day of school on Tuesday. He had a wonderful year with an outstanding teacher! I am almost sorry it is over. He wishes he could have the same teacher every year. Oh well!

Mylene had asked me how our visit went with my SIL & BIL who were visiting from Kansas a couple of weeks ago. We had a really nice time with lots of great food and a lot of laughs! I really wish they lived closer! My SIL said when she retires from her job that they wull probably move down here to Florida. So I will just have to wait a few years for that.I am so lucky to have the BEST inlaws!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I truly appreciate your wonderful comments!
