The Travelling Snowman

On June 15th I sent out my HOE Perpetual Ornament exchange to my secret partner Gabi . As you may recall this round was for a Snowman themed ornament and I received a gorgeous one from Edgar.
I sat here patiently waiting to hear from Gabi so I know it arrived safe & sound. I know mail takes about 10 days or so to get to Australia so around the 10 day mark I figured she would receive it. But I waited and waited and didn't hear from her nor see a post on the HOE blog from her about it.
Gabi finally received it on July 4th and she said she loved what I stitched for her. She also said that our little snowman took a side trip on his way to her to Germany!! LOL She said there was a postmark on the envelope from Frankfort!  Our only guess is someone in the postal system mistook Australia for Austria....go figure! lol Anyway I am so happy she received him and she loves him!
I stitched Snowman Ornament from SanMan Originals. It was a message board members only design given by Sandy a few years ago. I always thought he was so cute. I just love Sandy's Snowmen & Gingerbread Men.
I stitched it on 28ct Summer sky Joblean and used the DMC threads called for.

I also stitched a replacement for Laura's Seasonal Exchange Winter round piece that went missing and mailed it Priority International mail last Friday. She should have it any time now! As I handed the envelope over to the postal clerk I said "Via con dios" to it LOL I REALLY hope it makes it to her this time!  I stitxhed the same design for her as I did the first piece but I finished it off different this time. Once she receives it I will post a picture of each one I made.
Laura- Thank you so much for your patience! I feel so bad that you never received the first piece I sent you.

I also sent out my exchange for the LK Exchange Round C. My partner should have it by now as she is here in the US. I am just waiting to hear from her before I post a picture of it.

As of right now I am caught up on my exchange obligations. I am working on my Seasonal Exchange summer round which is due August 1 and then I start on my next HOE ornament which is Lizzie Kate themed. I also joined the Jura Point De Croix 2011 challenge which Irene announced on July 1st. I joined last year and really enjoyed making a few pieces from Chantal's wonderful designs. Irene and Chantal really make it fun! It is a very relaxed challenge and you have until September 15th to create something from the designs they send you. How many you stitch  and how you finish them are up to you. You can stitch one design or all of them. They have sent a bunch of charts this year and I still haven't decided which or how many I will do.  I think she says on her blog that she has 600 participants this year!!  Last year I was the only participant from the USA. The only stipulation is you cannot show your finished piece until the morning of September 15th. She will put them on her blog and at that point you can post a pic on your blog or photo album. It makes it fun! It is also wonderful to see all the different finishes people make. We have some very talented and creative stitchers out there! When you have a chance check it out!!  You can even see what was made last year. She has a translator right on the home page :)
I've been working on fixing my craft room up this past week with my DH. A few years ago he put organizers in my closet to store my crafts/cross stitch stuff. Now we are going to paint and re arrange the rest of the room. I will post the results as we move along! I LOVE it so far!!

Stay Tuned!

Wow, that was really some route the snowman took. He looks awesome. Love the fabric you've used and also the cord. Very different.
You really have been involved in a lot of stitching!!! Amazing.. Way to go :)
