A Rainy Saturday & My Latest Finish

Today is a perfect day to stitch as it is raining outside. It is warm out so I have the slider open to get in the fresh air. I am just waiting for DH to get back then I have a few errands to do then back home to sit and watch my favorite soap & stitch. I didn't get to see One Life To Live Thursday or Friday so today is catch up day.
I managed to dye another piece of fabric and also finish another freebie from The Sampler Girl called Tenderness Of Heart. I used 28 ct Hand Dyed Raspberry Jobelean and DMC 3799 & 3804 and another light pink DMC for inside the heart but I forgot which one I used lol I am using the fabric for another piece I stitched from Tanya called Be Mine. I finished stitching that and now I just have to finish it off. I am deciding on trying my first Needleroll or just making it into a pin pillow with some lace around the edge.

For those who don't know I was sewing challenged LOL I took wood shop in High School and missed sewing in Home Economics. My Grandmother was a seamstress so any time we needed something sewn she did it for us. I did ask her to teach me how to sew on her wonderful old black Singer sewing machine but she always made excuses lol Her thing was she came to the United States from Italy when she was 16 with her little brother and worked in a sweatshop sewing for many years. She didn't want any of us in the family to ever have to do that. So that is why I was sewing challenged.
Lucky for me my DH knows how to sew on a sewing machine. My Dear MIL taught him when he was younger. ( He made all of the curtains in our home) He use to do my finishing for me which was wonderful but he is busy and I would have to wait until he had a chance to do it. One day he said he was going to teach me so I could do it myself. And he did!!
Now I am not the best at sewing and still can't remember how to change the bobbin BUT I manage and my stuff comes out pretty decent if I may say so myself :)

I love how you finished the piece and your use of the heart pins. Where did you find them? I'm still lovin' my Bee MIne!

You're finishing looks great. It's obvious that you are a great student and your husband is a great teacher!
